Wide Coverage Main Loudspeaker
The CQ-1 wide coverage main is a selfpowered, phase-corrected reinforcement loudspeaker offering precise, low-Q coverage. The CQ-1 features a patented constant-Q horn design — the result of extensive research using Meyer Sound’s calibrated anechoic chamber. The frequency response of 40 Hz to 16 kHz is uniform over the entire coverage area in both the horizontal and vertical axes, with no side lobes even when measured at a one-sixth octave frequency resolution.
The CQ-1 loudspeaker’s unique combination of precise pattern control, compact size, low distortion and high power make it suitable for a wide variety of installed and rental applications. The CQ-1 is perfect as the main PA in small- to mid-sized auditoriums, houses of worship, clubs and hotel ballroom settings, and is highly effective in delayed fill applications for arenas and outdoor concert systems.
The CQ-1 loudspeaker’s low-frequency section comprises a single 15-inch Meyer Sound cone driver, and the high-frequency section utilizes a 4-inch diaphragm compression driver coupled to an 80-degree by 40-degree constant-Q horn.
The sophisticated MP-2/CQ-1 power amplifier is integrated into an accessible, lightweight rear module. The amplification, processing and protection circuitry produces consistent and predictable results in any system design. The proprietary two-channel amplifier employs Meyer Sound’s proven class AB/H design with complementary MOSFET output stages, and delivers 1240 watts burst power (620 watts per channel). Audio is processed through an electronic crossover and correction filters for phase and frequency response, as well as driver protection circuitry.
Each amplifier channel has TruPower limiting technology which maximizes loudspeaker reliability, minimizing power compression and extending component life. TruPower also affords higher continuous SPL capability at all frequencies with maximum headroom and regulates voice coil temperature. Limiter activity is easy to monitor with the limit LEDs on the rear panel.
The MP-2/CQ-1 amplifier’s power supply incorporates Meyer Sound’s Intelligent AC system, which performs automatic voltage selection, EMI filtering, soft current turn-on and surge suppression. Intelligent AC allows fail-safe operation worldwide, with no need to manually select the AC mains voltage.
The compact CQ-1 system is housed in an all-birch multi-ply enclosure with a textured, hard shell black finish. It is flyable and arrayable using standard ring and stud pan fittings on top and bottom rated at 500 lbs (226.80 kg) with a 5:1 safety factor. An optional mounting yoke allows flexible, quick installation and easy aiming in theatrical and permanent applications.
Options for the CQ-1 cabinet include weather protection and finishes in custom colors for fixed installations and other situations requiring specific cosmetics.
The CQ-1 integrates with the optional RMS™ remote monitoring system, which displays signal and power levels, driver status, limiter activity, and amplifier temperature on a remote Windows computer.

The 600-HP is a self-powered, high-output subwoofer that may be used in both flown and ground-stacked configurations. It is designed to rig directly with MICA compact, high-power curvilinear array loudspeakers when fitted with the optional QuickFly MRF-600 rigging frame. The versatility of the 600-HP also allows it to be used with a variety of other Meyer Sound self-powered loudspeakers — such as CQ-1, CQ-2, UPA-1P, and UPJ-1P — in fixed and touring applications.
The system features two specially designed high-power 15-inch cone drivers, engineered to provide optimal performance in subwoofer applications. The high-excursion, back-vented drivers have 4-inch voice coils, and each is rated to handle 1200 watts (AES).
The two cone drivers are housed in a rectangular, optimally tuned and vented enclosure that is the same width as MICA, and a few inches higher and deeper. The enclosure geometry makes vertical ground-stacking easy and convenient. All versions include plastic skids on the bottom of the unit to prevent damage to the enclosure or the unit below the skids align with slots on the cabinet’s top to ensure secure stacking. Operating frequency range is from 36 Hz to 150 Hz, with a peak SPL at one meter of 138 dB.
Each cone driver is driven by a channel of the integral two-channel class AB/H amplifier with complementary MOSFET output stages. Total output power is 2250 watts (4500 watts peak), providing the system with sufficient headroom to accommodate the most extreme sound reinforcement demands with ease. The circuitry includes TruPower limiting to extend the life of the drivers and hold long-term power compression to less than 1 dB. The amplifier, control electronics, and power supply are integrated into a single, field-replaceable module that is mounted the rear of the enclosure.
The optional MRF-600 rigging frame uses captive, rigid GuideALinks contained within recessed guides in the lower front and rear corners of the enclosure. A slot and convenient pinned handle allow the link to be moved and pinned for arraying or storage. The versatility of angles achieved by using combinations of front and back positions allows a MICA array suspended under 600-HP subwoofers to be uptilted for balcony coverage up to 15 degrees, or to 6 degrees with respect to the 600-HP. The 600-HP can make use of the optional MG-MICA rigging grid to accommodate a variety of flown and stacked configurations.
The durable enclosure is constructed of premium birch plywood coated with a black,hard-shell finish, with a powder-coated, hex-stamped steel grille lined with acoustical black mesh to protect the drivers. The exterior dimensions of the 600-HP are suitable for both European and U.S. trucks, and it can securely travel in stacks using the MCF-MICA caster frame, or MDB-600 dolly board when not fitted with rigging frames.
Options for the 600-HP include pro and custom color finishes for fixed installations and other applications requiring specific cosmetics. The RMS remote monitor- ing system — standard with the rigging version and optional with other configurations — allows comprehensive monitoring of system parameters on a Windows-based network.
