L-Acoustics for Filadelfiakyrkan

The Filadelfiakyrkan, also known as the Philadelphia Church, is a significant landmark in Stockholm, Sweden, inaugurated in November 1930. As the popularity of the church grew, there was a need for a complete renovation to update its technical infrastructure, including its audio system. The church needed a new rider-friendly PA system that would cater to every seat in the house, handle anything from speech to pop/rock music, and stay within their budget. Additionally, the church required a system that would fit the architectural requirements of the building, which called for flown subs.

To meet the requirements, the church turned to JLE Audio, a reputable audio company that specializes in designing and installing audio systems for various venues. Johannes Jonsson, an experienced technical engineer, was responsible for handling the design, installation, calibration, and tuning of the new system.

JLE Audio's Johannes Jonsson chose Kara II as the main system for its lightweight and the ability to provide the coverage and sound the church was looking for. The final design comprised main left/right hangs of 12 Kara II per side, with four KS21 flown behind the Kara II per side. An A15 Wide per side caters for outfill, while the frontfill is six X8, with a further eight X8 as under-balcony fills. The entire system is driven by LA4X amplified controllers running on AVB from an L-Acoustics P1 processor and measurement platform at the front of the house.

One of the main challenges was to find a system that would cater to the church's needs, fit the architectural requirements of the building, and stay within their budget. Johannes Jonsson was able to design a system that met all the requirements, including flown subs that fit the building's architectural requirements. Jonsson appreciated L-Acoustics’ support and assistance with the Soundvision design and proposals and its help during the demo/shootout. 

The L-Acoustics P1 processor was a natural choice as it provided a flexible matrix for the whole system where both in-house and guest consoles could connect, with the ability to connect both via AES or analog. The system also had the ability to send separately to subs and a guest EQ. Additionally, the AVB/MILAN technology used in the system provided 100% time alignment and the highest sound quality. The P1 processor also offers auto-climate integration, making it a perfect choice for the church.
